Attendance Rate: $257.53 (1:2 Rate) or $441 (1:1 Rate) + Mileage (approx $12 per participant)

*Participants are charged for support hours ONLY. We pay for your food & activities

Grab your scooter or skateboard and join us for a fun day at the skatepark!

We’ll spend the day enjoying the skatepark, hanging out with friends, playing games and finishing up with a BBQ lunch together.

Participants are welcome to bring their own scooter or skateboard and enjoy the skatepark at their own pace — whether they’re already confident on the ramps or just want to cruise around and have some fun. There’ll also be plenty of games and other activities for anyone who wants a break from skating.

Throughout the day, we’ll naturally support confidence, social connection, communication, independence, turn-taking and community participation in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Risk Details

Falls from scooters or skateboards while riding, turning, stopping, using ramps or attempting tricks

Collisions with other participants, members of the public, skatepark structures or surrounding objects

Injuries associated with skatepark activities, including grazes, cuts, bruises, sprains, strains, fractures or head injuries

Use of damaged, unsuitable or incorrectly sized scooters, skateboards or safety equipment

Participant removing or incorrectly wearing their helmet while using a scooter or skateboard

Slips, trips or falls while walking around the skatepark, BBQ or surrounding outdoor areas

Burns or other minor injuries associated with the BBQ, hot surfaces, cooking equipment or hot food

Allergic reactions to food ingredients, environmental factors, plants or insect bites/stings

Dehydration, heat exhaustion, sunburn or other effects of prolonged outdoor activity

Participant becoming fatigued or overexerted during physical activity

Emotional distress, anxiety, frustration or sensory overload due to noise, crowds, social situations or group activities

Challenging behaviours or interpersonal conflict between participants

Participant leaving the designated activity or supervision area without notifying staff

Interaction with members of the public or other skatepark users

Traffic and vehicle-related risks when entering, leaving or moving around parking and roadside areas

Adverse weather conditions, including rain, storms or excessive heat, making the skatepark unsafe for use

Potential Repercussions

Minor injuries including cuts, grazes, bruises, strains or sprains

More significant injuries including fractures, dental injuries or head injuries

Burns from BBQ equipment, hot surfaces or food

Allergic reactions requiring first aid or medical attention

Heat-related illness, dehydration or sunburn

Emotional distress, anxiety, withdrawal or dysregulation

Conflict between participants or members of the public

Temporary separation from the group

Escalation of behaviours impacting participant or group safety

Serious injury requiring first aid, medical treatment or emergency assistance

Alternative Options

Participation in outdoor games and social activities without using the skatepark

Low-impact recreational activities for participants who do not wish to scooter or skateboard

Participant may watch or socialise with peers without participating in skating activities

Access to quieter areas and breaks where appropriate

One-on-one support for participants requiring additional assistance, where arranged

Modified activities based on individual abilities, confidence and support needs

Alternative recreational activities if weather or skatepark conditions make riding unsafe

Strategies to Reduce Risk

Ensure participant profiles, medical information, individual risk assessments, emergency contacts and relevant consent information are reviewed prior to attendance

Maintain appropriate staff-to-participant ratios based on individual support needs and assessed risks

Conduct a visual inspection of the skatepark and surrounding areas before commencing activities and monitor conditions throughout the day

Provide participants with a clear safety briefing, including skatepark boundaries, expectations and designated meeting/check-in areas

Helmets must be worn correctly at all times when using scooters or skateboards

Participants bringing their own scooter or skateboard are responsible for bringing equipment that is safe, suitable and in good working condition; staff will not permit use where equipment appears visibly unsafe

Encourage participants to ride within their individual skill level and discourage unsafe tricks, reckless riding or behaviour that may place themselves or others at risk

Maintain active staff supervision around the skatepark while recognising that participation in wheeled recreational activities carries an inherent risk of falls and injury

Monitor interactions with other skatepark users and relocate or modify activities if the area becomes excessively crowded or unsafe

Establish clear supervision zones and procedures for participants moving between the skatepark, BBQ, games and other designated areas

Staff to manage and supervise the BBQ and restrict participant access to hot surfaces and cooking equipment where appropriate

Review known allergies and dietary requirements prior to serving food

Encourage regular hydration, sunscreen application, hats, rest breaks and other sun-safe practices

Monitor participants for signs of fatigue, overheating, injury, distress or dysregulation and provide breaks or modify participation where required

Carry first aid equipment, emergency contact information and charged communication devices throughout the activity

Staff to have access to location information and emergency services if required

Cease skatepark activities where rain, excessive heat, storms, damaged surfaces or other environmental conditions create an unacceptable risk

Adapt or discontinue an activity at any time where staff determine that continued participation presents an unacceptable risk to the participant or others
