About our groups
We have one group for kids and two groups for teens, meeting in person at our office in Manteca. Groups run in terms, and enrollment is confirmed term by term.
Who group is most likely to help
A child or teen who already takes part in group settings, wants to build friendships, and keeps trying when something is hard. In a group outside the home over the past three months, they typically follow group instructions with an occasional reminder, wait their turn, hold a short conversation, and accept redirection without escalating.
Who group is not the right fit for right now
Group is not the right fit right now if any of these happened in a group outside the home in the past three months: meltdowns lasting five minutes or more, leaving a supervised space without permission, hitting, biting, kicking, or scratching, throwing or breaking objects, mouthing objects or people, or disruptive screaming or yelling.
If a child or teen does not meet these criteria, we do not have a group placement to offer at this time.
