Environmental risks such as falling branches, rocks, or sudden weather changes (rain, cold, heat).
Travel to and from the site (bus, carpool, public transport) carries risks of delays, accidents, or motion sickness.
Disturbing wildlife (e.g., touching glow worms, loud noises) could create safety or environmental hazards.
Potential Repercussions
Minor injuries (e.g., sprains, bruises, cuts from uneven surfaces).
Temporary distress from darkness, claustrophobia, or fear of insects/animals.

Strategies to Reduce Risk
Conduct a pre-briefing on expected conditions (darkness, uneven paths, wildlife).
Ensure participants wear suitable footwear and bring appropriate clothing for weather conditions.
Provide staff/adult supervision at both the front and back of walking groups.
Carry torches for safety, while following venue rules to avoid disturbing glow worms.
Ensure insect repellent is available and encourage its use before the tour.
Carry a first-aid kit and ensure trained staff are present.
Collect emergency contact details and medical information (e.g., asthma, allergies) prior to excursion.
Confirm safe transport arrangements with head counts before departure and return.
Liaise with tour guides/venue staff to understand their safety protocols and emergency evacuation procedures.
