In celebration of TAPIT's 20-year anniversary, we are happy to announce 2 scholarship opportunities awarding

         
One year TAPIT membership and free Annual Conference registration          

a) The Ardis Nelson Scholarship
     (for a full-time student or recent graduate with a language program major/minor) 
b) The Ronny Tipps Scholarship
     (for an interpreter or translator with a financial need)

Guidelines:

·      Applicants must submit the application form, accompanied by a 300- to 500-word essay and a name and contact information of an academic or professional reference, by 10:30 p.m. on October 25, 2024.

·      All information received, whether personal or financial, will be kept in strict confidence.  It will only be shared with the Conference Committee and/or board members.

·      One scholarship may be awarded per applicant per calendar year.

Need and/or Merit Criteria:

Selection will be based upon some or all of the following criteria with preference given to the first qualified applications received.

In awarding scholarships, the Conference Committee will take into consideration the following:

·      a complete and timely application
·      the applicant’s commitment to TAPIT
·      the applicant’s dedication to the profession of translation/interpreting
·      financial need

If chosen, you will be notified by November 1, 2024, and receive a membership voucher and a Conference voucher, via email.

Your completed membership and Conference registration forms must be received by November 4, 2024; otherwise, your vouchers will be void and the scholarship may be awarded to another applicant.
