Building a strong church begins with building a strong leadership team. Your board members should be individuals who are committed to the vision of the ministry, demonstrate integrity, and are willing to serve faithfully.

Before selecting your board members, consider whether each person is willing and able to:

Spiritual Leadership *

Support and uphold the church's mission, vision, and core beliefs.

Pray regularly for the pastor, leadership team, congregation, and ministry.

Demonstrate Christian character and serve as a positive example inside and outside the church.

Help preserve unity, peace, and integrity within the church.

Governance & Accountability *

Attend scheduled board meetings consistently.

Participate in important decisions regarding the direction and growth of the church.

Review and approve budgets, financial reports, and major ministry initiatives.

Ensure the church operates in compliance with its bylaws and applicable laws.

Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive church matters.

Financial Stewardship *

Practice faithful stewardship through regular giving and financial support of the ministry.

Assist in developing fundraising and financial sustainability strategies when appropriate.

Help ensure church resources are managed responsibly and transparently.

Ministry Support *

Actively participate in church services, events, and ministry activities.

Encourage and support ministry leaders and volunteers.

Help identify opportunities for outreach and community engagement.

Be willing to serve where needed as the church grows.

Leadership & Growth

Support the pastor's vision while providing wise counsel and accountability.

Help recruit and mentor future ministry leaders.

Assist in strategic planning for the church's long-term growth and impact.

Serve as ambassadors for the church within the community.
