Attendance Rate: $362.39 (1:2 Rate) or $621 (1:1 Rate) + transport at approx. $40 per participant

Join us for a refreshing day outdoors with our Hiking & Picnic Adventure at Mt Glorious! Participants will explore scenic walking trails, enjoy the beauty of nature, and share a relaxing picnic together. This outing is designed to encourage physical activity, social connection, and confidence-building in a calm, supportive outdoor environment. Lunch is included. Participants are welcome to bring hats, sunscreen, water, and optional snacks.

🚗 Door-to-door pick up and drop off can also be arranged.

Risk Details

Slips, trips, or falls on uneven, rocky, or muddy trails

Choose a shorter or flatter trail for lower physical demand

Opt for a smaller group or split into subgroups if needed

Reschedule if extreme weather, unsafe trail conditions, or high wildlife activity are forecast

Strategies to Reduce Risk

Conduct a pre-departure safety briefing outlining trail boundaries, group expectations, and safety rules

Maintain 1:1 or 1:2 staff-to-participant ratios depending on support needs

Ensure participants have sunscreen, hats, water, and appropriate footwear

Carry first-aid kits, emergency contact details, and communication devices

Supervise participants closely, particularly on uneven terrain or near water features

Provide rest breaks and shaded areas to prevent fatigue or overheating

Monitor participants for emotional distress or sensory overload

Establish buddy systems and clear meeting points to prevent separation

Check the trail for hazards, wildlife, or unsafe conditions prior to departure

Ensure food safety for picnic items and monitor for allergies

Debrief after the outing to identify any injuries or wellbeing concerns
