Member Owners share in what it becomes. Both are genuine ownership — just different levels of hands-on involvement, so nobody has to choose between joining and joining on terms that don't fit their life right now.
Why This, Why Now?
A person can now spend a whole day informed, entertained and advised — a feed for every interest, an answer for every question, and lately an AI that will talk it all through with them — and never once be needed by anyone within walking distance of their gate. That condition is only a few years old, and we are all living inside it.
The technology is not the villain, and pretending otherwise wastes everyone's time. These tools do real work and they are not going back in the box. The problem is that we built one half of the system. The reaching half is finished and brilliant. The gathering half was never built at all — nothing replaced the standing weekly reasons people used to end up in the same place: the field, the market, the practice, the yard.
That half does not exist yet. It will not appear on its own, and no app is going to ship it. It has to be built on the ground, by people who live there, in public, on a schedule. Ninety days at a time is how we are building it.
How This Works Strategically From Day One
During the 90-day journey, our group operates legally as an Unincorporated Association, led by a Steering Committee. Under Jamaican law, this is treated as a temporary partnership. We don't need government approval to begin operating this way — but we do commit to strict internal rules so everyone is protected and organized from the start.
A single-member LLC signs contracts and holds funds on the group's behalf purely as a legal shield. It has no ownership claim over the group or its decisions, which stay fully democratic: one member, one vote, whether you're a Founding Leader or a Member Owner.
What We're Protecting From Day One
If someone starts this journey and it turns out not to be the right fit — or they can't complete it — we already know what happens next, including whether they can shift into the Member Owner path instead of just losing their place. Nobody's left hanging or guessing in the moment.
And everything we create together — the routines, the choreography, the name — belongs to the cooperative we're building, not to any one person, and not to whoever's handling the paperwork on the group's behalf.
