Volunteer Sign-Up Form

Thank you for volunteering to help make our 40th Anniversary Spring Recital a smooth, supportive, and memorable experience for our dancers and families!

Each volunteer receives 1–2 complimentary Standard Seating tickets per show/position volunteered. These tickets may be used for yourself or shared with family members or guests. Backstage volunteers do not require tickets, as they will be stationed behind the scenes or in designated volunteer areas during the performance.

All volunteers are asked to attend a brief required Volunteer Meeting prior to the recital. Meeting date and time will be shared closer to the event.

Please review the volunteer role descriptions below and select the show(s) and position(s) you are available to assist with. Roles will be assigned based on availability and event needs, and final assignments will be confirmed closer to the recital.

🪑 Front of House Roles: (Lobby & Theater)

– Help welcome guests and manage the audience experience. Front of House volunteers will enter the theater once the show begins and may watch from their chosen seats using their complimentary tickets.

Front of House Volunteer Roles: Select your preferred area(s) of assistance — final assignments will be confirmed by the office. ONE free ticket per volunteer position.

Usher (Programs & Seating Help) — Welcome guests, hand out programs, and assist with seating.

Ticket Taker — Collect or scan tickets at entry.

Lobby Greeter / Info Table — Direct guests, answer questions, and help create a welcoming atmosphere.

🎭 Backstage (Dancer Support)

– Help supervise dancers and manage transitions backstage. Backstage volunteers will not need tickets and will watch their dancer’s number from the wings or a designated viewing area. (ONE Free Ticket for family PLUS Free Premium Volunteer seating for you.)

Backstage Volunteer Roles: Select your preferred area(s) of assistance — final assignments will be confirmed by the office.

Room Parent — Supervise dancers in assigned dressing room area.

Backstage Runner — Escort classes to and from the stage area.

Quick Change / Costume Assistant — Help dancers with outfit changes between pieces.

Floating Volunteer — Assist staff with flexible needs throughout the performance.

Student Volunteer Opportunities (Ages 10+)

Student volunteers play an important leadership role in helping our younger dancers feel confident, supported, and successful on stage. These positions are especially important for our Pre-School Show (Show A – 1:30 pm).

Student volunteers are assigned by the studio based on maturity, experience, availability, and show needs. Training and expectations will be reviewed at the Volunteer Meeting.

Student volunteers do not receive complimentary tickets. This opportunity is intended as a leadership and service experience.

Student Volunteer Roles (Select all you are interested in):

Pre-School Class Helper (Show A Only) Assist one assigned pre-school class with lining up, transitions, and general support backstage. We aim to assign at least one student helper per class.

Quick Change Assistant (Show A and/or Show B) Help younger dancers with simple costume changes under staff supervision.

Show B Backstage Support Assist with supervision, transitions, and class movement backstage for Level 1–2 dancers.

Floating Student Helper Assist teachers and staff wherever extra hands are needed backstage during the show.

🧭 Volunteer Placement Flexibility

I understand that all volunteers receive one or two complimentary Standard Seating tickets per show volunteered. A discount code covering the value of one or two standard tickets (including fees) will be emailed prior to ticket sales so it can be applied at checkout for any show.

I understand that Backstage volunteers do not need their own tickets, as they will be stationed behind the scenes or in a designated viewing area during their dancer’s number.

I agree to arrive 1 Hour before showtime for check-in and role instructions.

I agree to follow all studio and theater policies during my volunteer shift and maintain a positive, professional attitude while representing Music in Motion.
