Course Confidentiality & Media Release Agreement

To achieve this, we prioritize psychological safety, enabling you to feel secure and get the most from your time with us.
By allowing us to share general insights that inspire others, you help us reach more people who can benefit from this transformation. Your personal experiences will stay confidential, but your participation will support a greater cause, helping others embark on their own path to financial empowerment.
1. Definitions
Confidential Information:
Any proprietary, personal, or financial information shared within the course, including but not limited to personal stories, course materials, communications, or participant contributions.Participant:
The individual signing this agreement who is taking part in the course.Course Organizer:
Empowered Life Financial Inc. and its representatives, employees, contractors, or affiliates.
2. Commitment to Confidentiality and Safety
This course is the culmination of over 20 years of experience, more than $100,000 in investment, and countless hours of dedication. Itβs designed to help you integrate these valuable lessons within just 3 months, with full support provided. However, the success of integrating these concepts into your family culture is 100% owned by you, the attendee. Knowledge is powerful, but only when consistently applied. Repeated application of these lessons will produce predictable, positive outcomes.
To protect the value of this work, you agree to the following principles:
Respect for Privacy:
You will maintain the privacy of all participants. This includes not sharing personal stories or contributions from other attendees outside the group.Private Facebook Group Confidentiality:
Personal stories and information shared within the Private Facebook Group are confidential. Any information obtained in this group, whether about Winnie Lau, Empowered Life Financial Inc., or another member, must remain private and cannot be shared outside the group (with the exception of a testimonial).Confidentiality of Materials:
You agree not to disclose any proprietary information or course materials provided before, during, or after the course unless it has been explicitly authorized by the organizers.Intellectual Property & Non-Teaching:
You acknowledge that the course content, frameworks, systems, methodologies, and materials created and delivered by Empowered Life Financial Inc. are proprietary intellectual property. By signing this agreement, you agree not to reproduce, adapt, teach, instruct, commercialize, or otherwise use any concepts, systems, or materials from this course for the purpose of educating or training others, whether for compensation or otherwise, without the express written permission of Empowered Life Financial Inc. Your right to use this knowledge extends solely to personal application within your own life and household.Restricted Access:
You will not share, transfer, or grant access to any course communications (emails, recordings, or materials) with anyone outside the course.Ongoing Confidentiality:
Your obligation to maintain confidentiality continues after the course concludes.
3. Understanding Confidentiality vs. Public Promotion
While personal stories and sensitive information shared in the course are kept confidential, we do wish to share the overall success of the course with others. This may include using media like photos, videos, or audio recordings.
To clarify specific personal information about your life will not be used for public promotion. However, general stories & insights that do not reveal personal details may be shared to inspire others. Specific moments will be scheduled during the course to collect media, with full respect for your privacy.
4. Media Release Permission
As part of this course, we may record video and/or audio, and take photographs of sessions for promotional or educational purposes. By signing this agreement, you grant permission to the course organizers to use, publish, and distribute media containing your image, voice, or likeness for the following purposes:
Marketing and promotional content, including but not limited to websites, social media platforms, email campaigns, podcasts, webinars, online ads, press releases, and printed materials such as brochures and flyers.
Educational purposes, including online or in-person presentations and course-related resources.
Conditions of Media Use:
No Compensation:
You understand and agree that no compensation will be provided for the use of your image or likeness.
Revocation:
You may revoke this media release by providing written notice to the course organizers. Revocation will apply only to future uses and will not affect already published content.
5. Legal Considerations
Jurisdiction:
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising out of or relating to this agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Alberta.Limitation of Liability:
The course organizers shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, losses, or claims that may arise from participation in the course, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.Indemnification:
By signing this agreement, the participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the course organizers, their affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, or costs (including legal fees) arising out of their participation in the course, their breach of this agreement, or their violation of any applicable laws.Data Privacy:
The course organizers agree to handle all personal data in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). By participating in the course, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of your personal information for the purposes outlined in this agreement.Costs and Fees:
If you breach this agreement or take legal action against the course organizers that leads to us defending ourselves in court, you agree to cover all legal costs we incur. This includes attorney fees and court costs, except in cases where it is determined that you were not at fault.Force Majeure:
The course organizers shall not be held liable for any failure to perform their obligations under this agreement if such failure results from circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of war, pandemics, or government actions.Severability:
If any provision of this agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of the agreement shall continue in full force and effect.Amendments:
This agreement may only be modified in writing and must be signed by both the course organizers and the participant.Entire Agreement:
This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior agreements, representations, and understandings, whether written or oral, relating to this subject matter.
Execution of Agreement:
By signing this agreement, both parties acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions set forth herein.
6. Acknowledgment and Consent
By signing below, you acknowledge your role in creating a safe, confidential environment, and you agree to abide by the terms of this Course Confidentiality and Media Release Agreement.
