BUSINESS GROWTH READINESS ASSESSMENT

This questionnaire is broken into 5 brief Sections related to growth readiness and should take between 5 and 15 minutes to complete. Upon completion, you will be contacted to provide you with the results of your business' Growth Readiness Assessment.

Section 1: VISION

"Vision" is the clear and shared understanding of who we are, how we compete, where we're going and why.

If I asked almost anyone in my company where we want this business to be in 5 years, they would give me the same clear and consistent answer. *

Every employee understands what makes us unique (compared to our competition) and highly valuable (to our target customers) and consistently makes decisions aligned to that. *

The team doesn't just react to what’s in front of us—we consistently choose work and initiatives that fit where we want this business to go without prompting and reminding. *

Section 2: RHYTHM

"Rhythm" is the set of pre-planned, predictable and impactful meetings and other touchpoints that keep the team aligned, focused, and achieving the most important things.

We have a leadership team representing all business areas that steps back to review performance and plan ahead at least monthly, quarterly, and annually—and those sessions are consistent, well run and effective. *

Every major area of the business (ex: department, team) meets on a regular schedule, with a set time and agenda, to review key numbers and priorities. *

Our meetings get things done - leading to clear assessment, decisions and follow-up, not just discussion or status updates. *

Section 3: ACCOUNTABILITY

"Accountability" ensures every area of the business and individual team member knows exactly what outcomes it needs to produce, and consistently delivers on them.

Everyone knows the outcomes each team and individual is accountable for and they are consistently achieved. *

In each area of the business (ex: department, team) I have a single team member I can rely on to achieve the outcomes that business area needs. *

The most important things consistently get done and when things occasionally don't get done it's because they were the least important and impactful. *

Section 4: MEASURES

"Measures" are the most valuable numbers at every level (company, team and individual) that tell us whether the business is doing the right things (leading indicators) and achieving the right outcomes (lagging indicators).

Each area of the business knows the few numbers that matter most for its performance, including both early warning signs and final results. *

We have a clear, measurable (numerical) growth plan that connects the most important numbers across the business into a single picture. *

We set specific targets for each area based on what the business needs, and we reliably measure ourselves against them and report on success/failure. *

Section 5: PRIORITIES

"Priorities" turn vision into strategy and then tactics by focusing the team, at every level, on the few most important goals that will move the business forward on an annual and quarterly basis.

We clearly and consistently define a small number of priorities at the company and team levels that will make a meaningful difference to the business over the next 90 days and year. *

We consistently achieve quarterly and annual priorities in addition to day-to-day operations, rather than letting urgent work crowd them out. *

If I asked anyone in the company, they could clearly and accurately tell me what our top 3-5 priorities are for this quarter and this year. *
