What is the We Love Philly Mentorship Program?

How long is the mentorship commitment?
The mentorship commitment ranges from 6 to 24 months, depending on the mentor's availability. Mentors will be paired with mentees until the mentee reaches their high school diploma.
How will mentors and mentees communicate?
Mentors and mentees will communicate using the We Love Philly app, which provides a platform for easy and secure communication. Mentors will be assigned unique numbers to access the app and connect with their mentees.
Will there be opportunities for in-person meetings?
Yes, there will be ample opportunities for mentors to meet with their mentees in person. We Love Philly organizes fundraising events and schedules facilitated meet-ups throughout the duration of the mentor's commitment to the program.
Will mentors receive support and guidance?
Absolutely! We Love Philly staff will provide guidance and support to mentors throughout the program. Mentors can also connect with Britney, the Director of Emotional Support, Health, and Wellness, for additional guidance and assistance.
Is there a curriculum for the mentorship program?
Yes, there is a 24-week curriculum that mentors will follow throughout the duration of the mentee's time in the We Love Philly Pre-Apprenticeship Program. Each week focuses on specific social/emotional topics that mentors can discuss with their mentees.
How often should mentors meet with their mentees?
Mentors should commit to meeting with their mentees in person 4-6 hours per month. This allows for regular check-ins and rapport building between mentors and mentees.
