Level 4 Award in Hostile Environment Assertiveness Tactics 

 

The Level 4 Award in Hostile Environment Assertiveness Tactics [HEAT-4] sets the standards that individuals overseeing personnel in a hostile environment must meet. 

Qualification Target Group: 

Learners taking this qualification must work at the team leader (or equivalent) level. They must also demonstrate that they have worked in a hostile environment within the last 3 years.

This qualification covers hostile-environment awareness and how to support your team when working in hostile environments. How to assess and manage risks on this practical and workshop-based programme. Establish and maintain team-level communication and information systems. Monitor team progress, agree on corrective action, and communicate with relevant team members as appropriate. It also sets out the skills, knowledge, and understanding required to maintain personal and operational security by working with specialists in anti-surveillance techniques and situational awareness. It enables monitoring and minimising patterns and habits to reduce predictability and the risk of self-harm or harm to others.

How is the qualification assessed?

 

The Program theory is online with a 2-day role-play exercise in our purpose-built environments at our Swansea, South Wales, training centre.

Learners who have achieved the Level 4 Award in Hostile Environment Assertiveness Tactics. can progress on to the

Level 5 Award in Hostile Environment Agile Team Leadership (HEAT5).
