We Love Philly connects young people with community and real-world experience to build practical, career-ready skills. We are asking community members to commit their time and expertise to support youth and help create strong futures for Philly.
Mentor Our Youth
Typically, mentors spend at least 4 hours a month with their mentees. The actual time requirements vary by program, however, at least a one-year commitment is encouraged for long-term growth. The mentor’s role is to support their mentees by empowering them to resolve current issues, to develop coping strategies for the future, acknowledge the strengths, talents and gifts of the mentee, and encourage them to find ways to use them. Training and certification will be provided to all mentees.
Mock Interview
Join us for an engaging and supportive Mock Interview session designed specifically for the youth pre-apprentices of We Love Philly! This ongoing initiative gives our pre-apprentices the necessary skills to excel in real-world job interviews. Open to all industries!
Event Volunteer
Event volunteers are appointed for the planning cycle of a particular event and assist in the event planning or on the event day for set-up, guest assistance, registration or clean up. Event day volunteers will typically be asked to commit at least 3 hours. Event volunteers must be able to communicate effectively and respectfully, be dependable, punctual, courteous, personable, respectful, maintain confidentiality when appropriate, self-directed, willing to take initiative and are detail oriented.
Youth Internship
The We Love Philly Internship Program offers employers exclusive access to paid internship candidates who have successfully completed a state-recognized pre-apprenticeship program. Each candidate also comes with a portfolio featuring real-world projects completed for past clients during their pre-apprenticeship.
