I understand that marriage is a lifelong commitment that requires daily actions of love and kindness.

So we can experience true love here and live happily ever hereafter, in shā Allāh.

I know why I want to get married.

I know my dealmakers and dealbreakers.

I know how to de-escalate tense situations quickly and how to resolve conflicts.

Even when I strongly disagree with the other person.

I'm actively improving myself with the life skills - for myself and to co-pilot my future family:

managing money, driving, cooking heart-healthy meals, making decisions, self-care, handling emergencies (First Aid & CPR,) etc.

I am happy with my authentic, Allāh-made, natural beauty—from head to toe.

I am kind to my mind and my soul and I consciously reject toxic beauty standards.

When I look in the mirror, I can say loudly with a smile:

"I love myself just the way I am."

I've taken time to reflect on the challenges from my childhood and teenage years — using insights such as my ACE score — to turn those early wounds into golden scars of strength.

I honor the little girl I once was, and I'm proud of how her healing has helped shape the confident, resilient woman I am today.

I've prepared my marriage magnet —

a living, breathing personal press release that shows (1) who I am and (2) whom I'm looking for.

I've shared my marriage magnet with my parents

They know what I want and don’t want in my future co-founder.

They’re on board even if we respectfully disagree on a few things.

I can put on my detective hat and tell within minutes or hours if he is Mr. Red Flag or Mr. Compatible.

I do not need days, weeks, months, or years to filter a guy.

I know exactly what to say if a guy slides into my DMs or if he approaches me in person.

So, I’ll know instantly if he’s Mr. Player or Mr. Potential.

I am not tangled up with a guy in an unhealthy or toxic relationship.

I’m also not in a situationship where my heart is in limbo.

I know the type of marriage I want (Cornerstone vs. Capstone).

I also know the style of marriage I want (Traditional, Role-reversed, or Hybrid).

If a man with DC Com (Deen, Character & Compatibility) shows up in my life while I’m in college, I am willing to consider a Cornerstone Marriage -

with the option of continuing to live with my parents until we’re ready to move into our own place.

I'm choosing to live a porn-free life.

I’ve made a commitment to share my beautiful body with my Mr. Right only after he makes a lifelong commitment to me.

I know the exclusive rights I will have as a wife, the exclusive rights he will have as a husband, and the mutual rights both of us will have in our marriage.

I know 10 reasons why Muslims divorce and how to prevent each one.

I also know the 4 habits that can predict divorce with 94% accuracy.

I understand that getting married and having children are two separate timelines:

(a) I have a good idea about my Marriage Sweet Spot and

(b) I know when it's too early and when it's too risky to have children.

Taking care of myself today is an investment in my future family.

I imagine my future children saying: "Mama, thank you for living by the 5 pillars of health."

I know my healthy lifestyle choices today will positively shape both my well-being and that of my future children.

I made a shortlist of 5 to 10 money-making paths that will help me:

(a) to establish a family-friendly career that is ambitious and fulfilling, and

(b) to build a career-friendly family with my future co-founder.

I will get at least a bachelor's degree.

If I get married before graduation, I’ll make sure my future co-founder is fully on board and I’ll add this point in my marriage contract.

"Women with at least a bachelor's degree have a 79% chance of celebrating their 20th marriage anniversary, compared to a 41% chance for women with just a high school diploma."
