1. What best describes how you currently feel about faith or spirituality?
*
I have more questions than answers these days.
I’m exhausted—I’ve given so much, and I’m not sure I have anything left.
I’m still healing from things that happened in the past.
I’ve always felt like I didn’t fit, even when I tried.
I still go to church, but I often feel out of place.
I’m on a different path now—faith looks different, but it’s still there.
2. When you think about church or faith spaces, what emotion rises first?
*
Confusion—I’m not sure what I believe anymore 1
Resentment—I gave a lot and didn’t feel seen.
Caution—I’ve been hurt before.
Alienation—I’ve never really belonged.
Disconnection—I’m there, but not fully.
Freedom—leaving gave me room to breathe.
3. How do you typically respond when something feels off in your faith community?
*
I internalize it and question myself.
I keep showing up and doing what’s asked anyway.
I retreat for a while to regroup.
I get labeled as rebellious or “difficult.”
I try to stay on the edges and not make waves.
I leave. Sometimes quietly, sometimes dramatically.
4. What kind of belonging do you long for most?
*
A space where my questions aren’t threatening.
A space where I don’t have to give more than I have.
A space where my story is safe.
A space where I can show up as me.
A space where someone finally sees me.
A space that honors where I’ve been and where I’m going.
5. What best describes your faith journey over the past few years?
*
Quietly unraveling and re-evaluating.
Holding everything together for everyone else.
Breaking, grieving, and slowly healing.
Breaking free and reclaiming my voice.
Drifting, but still hanging on.
Letting go of old things to make space for something new.
6. What would feel like a deep exhale right now?
*
Being able to say what I really think without fear. 1
Not having to be the strong one anymore.
Knowing it’s okay that I’m not over it yet.
Being celebrated for who I am, not who I should be.
Someone noticing I’m still here.
Permission to keep exploring.
7. What keeps you going in all of this?
*
The hope that one day, my questions will lead to something real.
Knowing that even tired faith is still faith.
Grace—whatever’s left of it is still holding me.
The fire in me that refuses to settle for less.
The thought that I might finally be seen.
That God is bigger than the box I left behind.
