What is Emotional Debt?

Emotional debt accumulates in the quiet moments when we compromise our authentic selves. It's not merely the obvious boundary transgressions—like saying "yes" when you mean "no"—but the subtle, everyday sacrifices.

It's swallowing your words when you have a preference, prioritizing others' comfort over your own fundamental needs, and silencing your inner voice. It builds up when we refuse to acknowledge or express our true feelings: holding back tears when sadness strikes, or suppressing valid anger to keep the peace.

Over time, these unexpressed emotions and unspoken truths create a heavy internal ledger that drains our energy, leading to burnout, resentment, fatigue, and a deep feeling of being disconnected from who we truly are.
