I assess the situation in private and wait until there is an immediate issue to address their performance and reprimand so that I can be a safety net in case of any failure.
I directly intervene to show them how things should be done so they don’t make the same mistakes again.

How do you track and use data inside of your business?

I create a system for our team to diligently track data for each of our departments (marketing, sales, fulfillment) and share it with one another weekly.
I don’t track data consistently or for all departments in the business. If a problem arises, then I will look into the data privately to see if an answer is clear.
I personally track all of the data for each department in the business and make business decisions based on that data that I share with the team.
How do you respond when a project your team is working on isn’t moving forward?

I feel the need to step in and take control, assigning tasks or even handling parts of the project myself to get it back on track.
I guide my team back to our vision and encourage them to identify obstacles, brainstorm solutions, and move forward with my support.
I analyze the situation quietly, develop a detailed solution, and then share it with select team members to get things moving again.
What is your approach to team development and training?

I encourage continuous learning and provide resources/opportunities for each team member’s personal-development.
I lead training sessions and actively teach new skills to the team as I learn them myself.
I encourage continuing education training and expect team members to take the initiative to seek out opportunities and attend training as needed.
When are you acting as a ‘manager’ for your team in your business?

I act as a manager often on projects to guide the team, show them where errors are made and make sure that the project doesn’t fail.
I act as a manager only when there is a problem to solve and I need to intervene to assist the team members involved.
I act as a manager when the team needs my assistance in moving a project forward by mentoring and guiding them to ensure they have what they need to succeed.
When are you acting as a ‘follower’ for your team in your business?

I prefer to let team members take the lead on projects and provide support behind the scenes.
I act as a follower when I need to support my team’s initiatives and trust their expertise.
I find it challenging to act as a follower because I feel responsible for the outcome of every task.
