What’s your mindset like before going on camera ?
*
Calm and focused. "Lights, camera, action! I’m ready for my close-up!"
Nervous but determined. "It’s a little sweaty in here, but I’ll power through!"
Anxious, I feel like I might mess up. "If I could just not say anything awkward... that would be great."
Overwhelmed, I avoid it as much as possible. "Do I have to? Maybe tomorrow… or never?"
How do you feel about your appearance on camera ?
*
Confident, I’m comfortable with how I look. "Lookin’ good! My lighting is on point, and the angles are working for me."
I’m okay with it, but I’m aware of my insecurities. "I’m fine… just don’t zoom in on my left eyebrow, thanks."
I’m self-conscious and focus too much on flaws. "Is that a blemish? No one told me I had that! Abort mission!"
I’m uncomfortable and avoid looking at myself. "Who’s that awkward stranger on the screen? Oh, it’s me…"
What’s your biggest fear about being on camera ?
*
None, I feel good about it. "Bring it on, world! I was born for this!"
I’m afraid of messing up or looking unprofessional. "What if I accidentally say something weird like 'spaghetti shoes'?"
I’m worried about negative feedback or judgment. "What if they hate me? Or worse... what if they don’t even watch?"
I’m terrified of freezing up or embarrassing myself. "I’ve mentally rehearsed this, but my brain might just forget how to say words."
How do you rate your ability to tell a story on camera ?
*
Excellent, I know how to engage my audience. "I’ve got them hooked! Grab your popcorn, folks, this is gonna be good!"
Good, but I sometimes lose focus or go off track. "Wait, where was I going with this again? Oh right, back to the story!"
Fair, I struggle to stay coherent and compelling. "Once upon a time... oh wait, I lost you? Cool, cool, cool."
Poor, I get too nervous to tell a good story. "Uh, so… anyway, I’m just gonna go ahead and awkwardly wrap this up now."
How committed are you to improving your on-camera impact ?
*
Very committed, I’m ready to take action now. "Sign me up! Let’s make this camera thing happen!"
Committed, but I need more guidance. "I’m game, but I might need a little nudge… or maybe a full-on push."
Somewhat committed, but I’m holding back out of fear. "I want to… but also, can I stay in my comfort zone forever?"
I know I should, but I’m not ready to invest in myself yet. "Can I Netflix and chill my way through this instead?"
What makes you most frustrated about being on-camera ?
*
I don’t feel like I’m making a strong impact.
I struggle to maintain my composure.
I worry too much about what others think.
I can’t seem to get comfortable at all.
What aspect of being on camera makes you the most happy ?
*
Engaging with my audience and seeing their reactions.
Knowing that I’m improving each time I do it.
When I manage to get through it without any major issues.
When it’s over and I can relax.
