The Quick Rules

Cost: 100% Free! No purchase or payment of any kind is required to enter or win.
Age Limit & Family Play: You must be 13 years or older to play.
- Kids Under 13: We encourage parents to guide their younger children through the scavenger hunt! However, the parent or guardian must be the one to complete the entry form using their own name and email address. The entry and potential prize will be in the parent's name.
- Ages 13 to 17: You need a parent or guardian's permission to enter. If your entry is drawn, the iPad will be awarded to your parent/guardian.
Entry Limit: Strictly one entry per person. Duplicate entries will be automatically filtered out and disqualified before the drawing.
All answers must be correct for an entry to be valid and be entered into the drawing
Using Google is not allowed. We want this to be a fun get-to-know Hastings activity.
Deadline: All entries must be submitted by 9:00 PM CT on 7/18/2026.
The Drawing: We will randomly select one winner on 7/20/2026 and notify them directly via email.

Head east on 2nd Street East towards Tyler Street. There you will find the quiet Depot Park nestled in the heart of downtown. Look for the Parks & Trails sign. How many wheels are on the metal train silhouette at the top of the sign? *

From the Depot Park, head north on Tyler Street towards the river. Find the railway bridge and safely cross the street along the guardrail; you will find this is the site of the old ________ *

From here, follow the sidewalk back toward the Leeve Park. Overlooking the Mississippi River Regional Trail, you will find a musical place. Here is Hastings’ Freenotes Harmony Park, where there are ________ musical instrument stations. *

Continue west along the trail closest to the river and admire the festivities and the river, and pause at the Veterans Memorial to remember those who served. As you continue west, you will see two pillars rising on either side of the path. These mark the historic flood levels Hastings has experienced over the years. Continue along the path to the stairs by the American Legion. But before ascending the stairs enjoy the playful sculptures of Hastings resident Dale Lewis. Once at the top of the stairs, grab a bite to eat or continue on the adventure. Head south on Sibley Street, going under the Historic Hastings sign. At the corner of Sibley and 2nd Street East, you will find a delightful boutique called Crimson & Clover. Admiring the craftsmanship of this historic storefront, look toward the top, you will see the last name of the original owner. What is that last name? *

A local favorite in town, located by Level Up Games, The Busted Nut Bar & Grill, resides in the old Griffin building. Built in the year ________ by Thomas Griffin, this structure has housed a gentleman's clothing store, dentist, and various restaurants over the years. *

Making your way west along 2nd Street East toward the Highway 61 bridge, take a left turn by the Quarry Taphouse & Rock Range. Along the wall of the Quarry, you will see a beautiful mural. How many leaves in total are on the flowers present in the mural? *

Looking south from the mural, you will see Hastings' historic City Hall. Make your way over to the public green space in front of City Hall. Here you will find a unique sculpture. How many spokes are present on the wheel of the sculpture? *

From City Hall, make your way back to downtown Hastings and walk under the Highway 61 bridge, admiring the river to the north and, under the bridge, more artwork. As you travel along, you will see a large modern and industrial-looking building. The Confluence is one of the newest establishments in Hastings, MN. Offering great food and lodging. As you admire the front of the building, look for a small fenced-off square. What is the name of this square? *

Make your way back onto the event grounds and walk along the sidewalk near the Lock and Dam Eatery toward the river. You will see ahead of you an overlook with a sign speaking about the many bridges Hastings has had over the years. Make your way through the craft fair grounds at Jaycee Park and continue along the Mississippi River Regional Trail. We are going out to the Lock and Dam #2.
