We recommend a chimney sweep. The falling debris is usually caused by the inner lining of the chimney becoming loose with age. Over time, debris can build up on the bends in the chimney and cause a sudden 'dump'. A sweep can clear these bends to prevent this, but the condition of the lining will not improve, so bits will continue to fall from time to time.
