Application for Membership: Junior

All prospective Members of MBSC must complete an Application for Membership, which will be considered and determined by the Committee. The process can take up to two (2) weeks.

This form must be completed by the adult parents/guardians/caregivers of the prospective Junior Member and complete the parts of this form which seek information about the adult or adults who will be eligible for Family Membership by virtue of the prospective Junior Member.

The Committee may decline an Application for Membership.

Providing false or misleading information on this form could have adversely affect the application of both the prospective Junior Member and the adults whose membership is dependent on the Junior Member’s.

Privacy

The information provided on this form will be confidential to the Committee and any non-Officer members of the Membership, House, and Health & Safety and Employment Subcommittee. The information shall be retained on MBSC’s Google Drive, which has restricted and controlled access. Some information may be copied into the membership software used by MBSC. Access to MBSC’s membership software is also restricted and controlled.

Safety Information

MBSC Junior Sailors sail in the Hauraki Gulf. Junior Sailors who participate in regattas and racing will sail anywhere in New Zealand. Your Junior Sailor needs to have basic water safety skills before they are permitted to leave the shore in any boat.

Family Membership

MBSC was built on the work of its past Members, and its future will depend on the work of its current and future Members. MBSC looks to its Members to help with everything from crewing safety boats to preparing food to fundraising to running the club.

Family Members (the adult parents/guardians/caregivers of a Junior Member) are expected to play a part in the success of MBSC and take part in activities, events, and operations where they have been rostered or otherwise called upon contribute.

New Members will be given training and chances to buddy more knowledgeable and experienced Members to learn “the ropes”. The information provided below will assist MBSC to be buddied through new experiences.
